Week 10 Should Be Case Keenum's Last Chance to Prove Himself With Los Angeles Rams

If Case Keenum struggles again in Week 10, it may be time for the Los Angeles Rams to move on from the veteran quarterback by replacing him with Jared Goff.

At the beginning of the season, Jeff Fisher made his feelings clear about Case Keenum gave the Los Angeles Rams the best shot at taking the team to the next level in 2016. After finishing with one of the league’s top defenses in 2015, Keenum was supposed to be the quarterback that helped the offense emerge from the bottom of the league, but that obviously hasn’t been the case over the first eight games for the Rams this season.

While playoffs can’t officially be ruled out yet, Fisher needs to strongly consider making Sunday’s game against the New York Jets the final chance for Keenum to prove himself worthy of being the starter at quarterback for Los Angeles.

Even if the Rams haven’t provided him with the most attractive group of players at wide receiver, Keenum has been given every opportunity in the world to prove himself, only to continue to disappoint as the team enters Week 10 on a four game losing streak. What’s even more frustrating is Los Angeles seemed capable of making a surprise run in the NFC following a 3-1, but they obviously have a long way to go when looking at the results of the last four games.

With New York ranking near the bottom of the league when it comes to passing defense, this would be the perfect opportunity for Keenum to win back the trust of Los Angeles fans, and avoid some of the distractions about how he should be replaced with Jared Goff instead. As bad as it sounds, most teams would have given up on a quarterback like Keenum a long time ago, and if the Rams suffer another heartbreaking loss to the Jets, it’s time for Fisher to strongly consider making the move of replacing the veteran quarterback with the rookie.

Otherwise, the frustration is only going to continue when it comes to this disappointing Rams’ offense.
