Washington's Josh Norman fined $48K for hit on Sterling Shepard

The NFL has fined Washington Redskins cornerback Josh Norman $48,620 for an unnecessary roughness penalty against New York Giants wide receiver Sterling Shepard.

Norman has been fined by the league for hitting the New York wide receiver near the head and neck area during the Redskins' 29-27 win over the Giants in New Jersey last Sunday.

The 28-year-old Norman is no stranger to unnecessary roughness with New York Giants. Last season, the former Carolina Panther racked up more than $26,000 in fines for his on-field spats with New York wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr.

Norman and the Redskins will meet the Giants again on New Year’s Day.
