Despite a few mistakes, the Washington Redskins played a perfect game in their win against the Philadelphia Eagles.

After beating the Philadelphia Eagles this past Sunday, the Washington Redskins have now won four straight games. Needless to say, they are on a roll, and if they continue at their current pace then the entire NFL may need to watch out.

The Redskins beat the Eagles 27-20 on Sunday, but the score shouldn’t have been that close. Take away a taunting penalty that led to a shorter kick which was returned for a touchdown, and one rushed throw by Kirk Cousins, and you’re looking at a 27-6 game.

If you take a look at the game stats, you’ll see that it was total domination. The Skins had nearly 500 total yards on offense compared to the Eagles’ 239. They more than doubled the amount of first downs that Philadelphia had. And they possessed the ball for nearly 10 minutes more than the Eagles.

Erase those two bad mistakes that led to a kick return and a pick-6, and the Redskins played their most complete game on both sides of the ball so far this season.

Every aspect of the offense worked beautifully. Cousins threw for 263 yards, 2 touchdowns, and 1 interception. The Washington rushers totaled 230 yards on the ground and accounted for a touchdown. That was is quite impressive for such a young group of guys. However, not all the credit goes to the running backs. The offensive line, which has been a question mark for the Redskins this season, provided holes for the backs to run through and made sure Cousins was untouched. On top of all that, the offense only turned the ball over once.

The defense did its job too. They kept the Eagles from scoring any touchdowns and held them to only 239 total yards. The defensive line was also able to get to the quarterback, sacking Carson Wentz 5 times.

The Washington Redskins played an incredible game this past Sunday and were able to come out with a big win despite a few stupid mistakes. If the Skins can keep this type of performance going and minimize their errors, then they will be serious contenders come playoff time.
