Vikings coach Mike Zimmer is now Teddy Bridgewater's official 'shoe-tier'
Minnesota Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer is in a difficult position. He was dealt a serious blow last week when his quarterback, Teddy Bridgewater, suffered a season-ending knee injury. He’s now tasked with getting Sam Bradford, his new quarterback, up to speed in Minnesota.
Zimmer's duties don’t stop there, though. He’s also added the job of being Bridgewater’s “shoe-tier.”
It's by far the easiest job on Zimmer’s job description, though it’s one he certainly wishes he didn’t have. No coach wants to see his quarterback so badly injured that he can’t tie his own shoe, but that’s the case with Bridgewater.
Zimmer was understandably shaken by Bridgewater’s injury and had high hopes for him entering this season. Now, he’s forced to move past it and get back to coaching the guys he does have healthy.
"I never thought that I'd have another quarterback throughout my career other than him," Zimmer said. "You go through those things, you get over it and you go on. We'll try to do the best we can and figure out a way to win."
