'Undisputed' debate: Are the 1-3 Panthers finished?

Published Nov. 15, 2016 2:03 p.m. ET

The Carolina Panthers have gone from the Super Bowl to a 1-3 start, and there’s already talk they might be finished a quarter of the way into the season.

Quarterback Cam Newton is in concussion protocol after taking another hard hit during a Sunday loss to the Falcons, the once-mighty defense is struggling, and the Panthers are losing the turnover battle in a bad way.

But those are the symptoms – FS1's Skip Bayless and Shannon Sharpe debated the cause of the Panthers’ problems on Monday morning’s “Undisputed,” and Bayless had no trouble pinpointing the diagnosis: “As soon as Josh Norman was allowed to leave, they were done. I think they dearly miss Josh Norman.”

After Falcons wide receiver Julio Jones racked up 300 yards receiving against the Panthers Sunday, it’s hard to argue that Carolina wouldn’t be better off with its former Pro Bowl cornerback playing for the Panthers instead of the Redskins. Watch Bayless and Sharpe hash through the details in the video above.
