Turner out for Falcons, Pierce inactive for Giants

Published Nov. 22, 2009 5:35 p.m. ET

Atlanta Falcons running backs Michael Turner and Jerious Norwood are inactive for the team's game against the New York Giants. Turner, fourth in the NFC in rushing, suffered a high ankle sprain last week against Carolina. Norwood is missing his fifth straight game with a hip flexor. Jason Snelling is starting at running back for Atlanta. Wide receiver Roddy White, questionable with a sprained knee, is active. As expected, the Giants are without linebacker Antonio Pierce, out indefinitely with a bulging disk in his neck. Chase Blackburn is starting in his place. Cornerback Aaron Ross is active for the first time after missing the first nine games with a severe hamstring strain. Cornerback Kevin Dockery is inactive.
