The Cowboys Double Down on the High School Game

Despite football’s growing problems, Texas continues to embrace the sport at an unprecedented level. Collin County, north of Dallas, has served as the epicenter for an unprecedented stadium boom, including $60 million venues in McKinney and Allen that outshine many college stadiums. And the nearby pro team is making its own investment in the game’s future, with a lavish new headquarters in Frisco that houses the Cowboys’ practice facilities and also includes an indoor stadium, the Ford Center, that will host games for all eight Frisco high school teams. No other NFL club is doing as much to cultivate the game at the high school level and to link itself with the local football community in such a significant manner.
