The Chiefs are only one Broncos mistake away from an AFC West crown
The Kansas City Chiefs once looked incapable of winning a game, let alone a division.
That was months ago. The current team has pieced eight victories together and now stands on the precipice of an all-time epic football comeback.
They're only one game behind the stumbling Denver Broncos -- not in the Wild Card race, but for the AFC West crown. And with games against the Browns and Raiders left, they could end up as champs.
It only takes a Broncos loss in Week 16 (vs. Bengals) or Week 17 (vs. Chargers) to even their records. Kansas City would then claim the division; they boast the better divisional record.
Of course, they might not want their first divisional title since 2010. Their playoff path as a Wild Card team currently seems a lot easier.
