Texans running back Hunt hoping to build on rookie season
A late-season addition to the Houston Texans' roster, running back Akeem Hunt is looking forward to what he hopes will be a full season with the team in 2016.
Hunt was signed to the Texan's practice squad Nov. 2 and promoted to the active roster less than three weeks later. In seven games, including one start, the rookie ran 17 times for 96 yards and caught six passes for 39 yards.
The former Purdue standout said his experience over the last part of the season has him "excited" about the future.
“They found ways to get me in space,” Hunt said. “I just want to keep their trust. It was fun. I just want to have a great offseason, keep getting strong and do more and more next year.”
Hunt, who has 4.3 speed, went undrafted last season, arriving in Houston after stints with the New York Giants and Baltimore Ravens.
