Texans guard Su'a-Filo back at practice
Houston Texans left guard Xavier Su’a-Filo, who missed the entire preseason due to a sore left foot, returned to practice Monday in advance of the team's season-opener Sunday against the Kansas City Chiefs.
Su’a-Filo, Houston's 2014 second-round pick, was projected to be the team's starter entering training camp.
“He’s practicing,” head coach Bill O’Brien said, per the Houston Chronicle. “Like I always tell you, I’ve got to watch the practice tape, but so far, it looked like he was playing left guard and moving okay.”
Jeff Adams has been starting in Su'a-Filo's absence throughout the preseason. Whether Su'a-Filo is able to regain the starting spot in time for Sunday's game against the Chiefs remains to be seen.
The 6-4, 307-pound Su'a Filo, the 33rd overall pick last year, played in 13 games a rookie, with one start.
