Texans cut WR Chandler Worthy

BY foxsports • October 14, 2015

Rookie wide receiver Chandler Worthy, who appeared in three games for Houston this season, was released by the team on Tuesday.

Worthy was cut to clear a roster spot for defensive tackle Brandon Dunn, who was signed off the Chicago Bears' practice squad.

The 5-foot-9, 173-pound Worthy caught three passed for 14 yards this season. He also contributed on special teams, returning three punts for nine yards and one kickoff for 27 yards.

An undrafted free agent out of Troy, this is the second time Worthy has been let go by the Texans. He was cut at the end of training camp before being added to the team's practice squad. Worthy was then promoted to the active roster Sept. 16 after the Texans placed tight end Ryan Griffin on injured reserve.

Per Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle, the Texans intended to sign worthy to the practice squad once again if he clears waivers.
