The Houston Texans promoted inside linebacker Max Bullough to the active roster on Wednesday as part of a series of moves at the position.

Bullough, who signed with the Texans as an undrafted free agent out of Michigan State, spent most of last season on Houston's practice squad. The 6-foot-3, 249-pound Bullough appeared in one game last season and made one tackle.

Per the Houston Chronicle, the Texans called up Bullough with an eye towards improving the team's kick coverage units on special teams.

A two-time All-Big Ten selection, Bullough takes the place of inside linebacker Mike Mohamed, who was placed on injured reserve with a calf injury. The Texans placed reserve linebacker Carlos Thompson in IR Wednesday as well.

In addition to Bullough, the Texans signed outside linebacker Kourtnei Brown, who spent training camp with the team, and added inside linebacker Brian Peters from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers' practice squad.
