Terrance West Scores vs Cowboys, Mocks Dez Bryant (Video)

Published Jun. 30, 2017 6:28 p.m. ET

Baltimore Ravens running back Terrance West is facing the Dallas Cowboys, and he had a message for first Ezekiel Elliott, then Dez Bryant.

There are rumblings that Terrance West could lose his starting job as the Baltimore Ravens running back to rookie Kenneth Dixon, because he’s been underwhelming. Not only has West averaged just 3.9 yards per carry on the season, but he is coming off of three terrible performances. Last week against the Cleveland Browns, West had just 65 yards on 21 carries.

West and the Ravens, however, got off to a fast start against the best team in the league today. A former Brown and Tennessee Titan, West rumbled for an 18-yard touchdown against the Cowboys, and he threw up the “X” at the end of the score.

Yes, West is mocking Dez Bryant, who is looking to have another big game after roasting the Pittsburgh Steelers last week. On this run, West hit the hole hard after taking the carry from Flacco lined up in the shotgun, and the Cowboys just didn’t have enough bodies at the second level to bring him down.

Also on the drive, West picked up a big gain and also mocked the “Feed Me” celebration of Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott.

West has 510 yards and three touchdowns on 132 carries this season, and he’ll need more plays like this in order to hold off Dixon. Beyond the fact that Dixon is a young, superior talent, the Louisiana Tech rookie can make a bigger impact in the passing game. That should be important to Joe Flacco and the Ravens offense, because West hast just 12 receptions on the season.

Bryant could have a response back to West after he scores, but the Ravens struck first blood with West’s impressive scamper.
