Teddy Bridgewater leaves Vikings practice in an ambulance

Minnesota Vikings quarterback Teddy Bridgewater left practice in an ambulance on Tuesday with worries about a major injury to his leg or knee.

Today is a scary day for Minnesota Vikings fans. With the promises of a fantastic 2016 on the horizon and escaping the first three games of the preseason relatively healthy, the team suffered a major blow on Tuesday during practice.

It has been reported that quarterback Teddy Bridgewater has suffered an injury that many are describing as “scary”. Of course, Bridgewater is in his third year with the Vikings and was hoping to help the team continue to grow offensively.

However, he may not get that opportunity, as it sounds as though the quarterback’s injury is quite serious.

Here is a tweet from ESPN’s Ben Goessling about the injury:

The team reportedly stopped everything to drop to their knees in prayer for the quarterback, when the Minnesota Vikings passer seemingly had his leg give out on him. The Star Tribune reported that an ambulance arrived on the scene to take Bridgewater to get medical attention.

Losing Bridgewater for an extended period of time is a very scary proposition. Behind him on the depth chart are Shaun Hill and Joel Stave, neither of which are extremely reliable. In the meantime, Taylor Heinicke is still injured as well.

Hopefully the Minnesota Vikings won’t have to explore quarterback options and this is nothing serious, but from the reactions of the players, team, and medical personnel, it doesn’t sound good for Bridgewater.

At The Viking Age, our hopes are that this isn’t a major injury and Bridgewater can make a speedy and full recovery to return to the team. This is a scary situation and we will keep fans updated on any information as it becomes available.
