Teams may be leaving, but perhaps St. Louis and San Diego can celebrate Hall of Famers

St. Louis and San Diego may well be on the way out as NFL cities, but at least they have a few shots to be represented in this year's class of the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

Among the 15 finalists for the Hall announced Thursday are Don Coryell, Orlando Pace and Kurt Warner.

As a coach, Coryell installed innovative, wide-open offenses labeled Air Coryell, operated by quarterback Jim Hart with the St. Louis Cardinals and then Dan Fouts with the San Diego Chargers.

Pace, a massive offensive tackle and three-time All-Pro, played 12 seasons with the St. Louis Rams.

Though Warner had a late-career resurgence with the Arizona Cardinals, he made his name as the quarterback of the Greatest Show on Turf with the Rams.

So, chin up, St. Louis and San Diego fans. Even if you don't have teams to root for come the fall, maybe you can still cheer some of your one-time football heroes as they are inducted in Canton.
