Tampa Bay Buccaneers' offense set to break franchise record in Week 17
To say that the first year with quarterback Jameis Winston has been a solid one for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, would probably be a bit of an understatement. No, the Buccaneers are not going to the 2015 NFL playoffs, but the future is obviously bright.
With that said, Winston is looking at an opportunity to place his name, as well as the rest of his team, in the team's record books.
As Joe Kania of Buccaneers.com reports, Tampa Bay needs just 193 total yards of offense on Sunday against the Carolina Panthers to break the franchise record for most offensive yards in a season. The record was first set back in 2012, when the Buccaneers finished up the year with 5,820 yards.
Kania also explained that this year's Buccaneers team has averaged 375 yards per game offensively, so there's obviously a pretty good chance that record goes down on Sunday. While Winston is just a part of this record being broken, it's obvious that the offense got rolling when Winston began to pick up confidence as well.
