NFL WEEK 6 PICKS

Thanks to Brett Favre's poor decision-making, Tampa Bay's upset special over the Bengals and more problems for the Saints, I'm back over .500. Let's see if I can keep Uncle Mo on my side. Last week: 4-2-1. Overall: 17-15-2.

BUCS (PLUS 4 POINTS) OVER SAINTS: I'll take a home 'dog against a banged-up New Orleans team that continues to be overrated by oddsmakers.

COLTS (MINUS 3 POINTS) OVER REDSKINS: Peyton Manning is probably happier to face this Washington secondary than he was when he was picking on Eli for that ESPN commercial.

COWBOYS (PLUS 1 1/2 POINTS) OVER VIKINGS: Here's two desperate teams, but Favre should find a way to sabotage Minnesota again.

DOLPHINS (PLUS 3 POINTS) OVER PACKERS: Green Bay, like New Orleans, has been taken down a notch by injuries. The Dolphins should be able to hang with the Pack, if not take the victory.

FALCONS (PLUS 2 1/2 POINTS) OVER EAGLES: Atlanta is the real deal, and it's nice to take one of the best teams in the NFL and get points.

RAIDERS (PLUS 7 POINTS) OVER 49ERS: Oakland might win outright if Niners coach Mike Singletary (above) listens to fans and puts David Carr in the game.

RAVENS (PLUS 2 1/2 POINTS) OVER PATRIOTS: An inconsistent Baltimore offense should be able to exploit the New England defense throughout this game.

Talk about a blown call.

The NBA players union is planning legal action over the league's move to call more technical fouls for complaining and issue higher fines.

The NBA made the right move here, and let's hope commissioner David Stern stands firm.

Fans are tired of watching NBA players complain, then seeing how obvious the foul call was.

From superstars to benchwarmers, these guys are out of line.

NBA referees have to deal with more ridiculous complaining than officials in the NFL and MLB combined.

Kevin Garnett was ejected after two technical fouls in 16 seconds on Wednesday, but more complaints about the rules will just lead to more bad PR for the players.

The preseason is the time to get everyone in line.

I predict this new set of rules will probably lead to controversy in the playoffs when a superstar is - or is not - ejected for complaining.

Some growing pains might be necessary, but this is a great rule change by the NBA.
