You also watched Brady look, well, human in the first half. Yet he looked vintage Brady in the second.
The overtime drive too.
For those bringing up the Super Bowl GOAT conversation, Hall of Fame QB Joe Montana never tossed a Super Bowl interception. And Montana’s passer rating during his four SB performances… 127.8.
Brady’s efforts in Houston won’t get him closer to that mark.
But still…
Alas, 49ers fans can smile about one thing. They can also smile knowing Falcons offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan will be heading west to take the Niners helm as head coach.
While the talent level in Santa Clara is vastly different than what Shanahan has in Atlanta, his efforts in 2016 and into the playoffs were surely a sight to behold.
Regardless, the Falcons’ near effort does two major things for San Francisco 49ers fans. It brings a championship-caliber coach into the organization, providing vital experience for a developing roster.
And it gives the Niners hope. Remember, Atlanta’s head coach, Dan Quinn, brought his team to the bring of a Super Bowl championship in his second year.
Not bad. Not bat at all.
