Sunday Night Football ends in a tie after two missed field goals

Sunday Night Football between the Seahawks and Cardinals ended in a 6–6 tie after two easy missed field goals.

Toward the end of a marathon overtime in which neither team appeared to desire victory, Arizona appeared to have an easy win with the ball inside the Seattle 10-yard line. That’s when kicker Chandler Catanzaro missed a chip-shot field goal.

Arizona had driven down to the five after a big 40-yard pass from Carson Palmer to JJ Nelson, and nearly punched it in with a pair of David Johnson runs. After a delay of game penalty backed them up to the six, Catanzaro had the chance to win it. He did not.

Seattle then drove down the field to try for a 28-yard field goal in the closing seconds to win. Stephen Hauschka missed that one.

What an awful game.
