Steelers sign guard David DeCastro to 6-year contract
PITTSBURGH (AP) The Pittsburgh Steelers have locked up All-Pro guard David DeCastro for the rest of the decade, and then some.
DeCastro signed a new six-year contract that will keep him with Pittsburgh through the 2021 season. The 26-year-old DeCastro was entering the final year of the rookie deal he signed after the Steelers took him with the 24th overall pick in the 2012 draft following an All-American career at Stanford.
DeCastro's career got off to a bumpy start when a knee injury limited him to just four games his rookie season. He's quickly developed into one of the league's best linemen and has missed just one game over the past three seasons. He was selected to his first Pro Bowl in 2015 after helping the Steelers finish third in the league in total offense.
