Bills quarterback Trent Edwards requires further evaluation after sustaining the second concussion of his NFL career. The starter's status is uncertain for the game at Carolina this weekend.
Coach Dick Jauron said Monday that Edwards was healthy enough to travel home with the team after he was knocked out in the second quarter of a 16-13 overtime win at the New York Jets on Sunday. "We'll take that day to day and see how he comes out of this thing," Jauron said.
Bills players are off until Wednesday.
Edwards also sustained a concussion in a loss at Arizona on Oct. 5.
If Edwards can't play, Ryan Fitzpatrick would take over after going 10 of 25 for 116 yards and a touchdown in rallying Buffalo (2-4) to victory.
