Source: Eagles set to sign offensive guard John Moffitt
The Philadelphia Eagles are bolstering their offensive line.
Offensive guard John Moffitt is set to sign a one-year deal with the Eagles, a source told FOXSports.com.
Moffitt, who cleared waivers last week, was free to sign with any team after he decided to come out of retirement.
NFL on FOX insider Jay Glazer reported earlier this month that Moffitt wanted to return to the NFL after he cleaned up his life.
Moffitt, 28, joins a group of guards that includes Allen Barbre, Andrew Gardner, Malcolm Bunche, Matt Tobin and Dennis Kelly.
The Eagles released longtime veteran guard Evan Mathis earlier this month as he was the subject of a holdout.
Moffitt, the 27th overall pick in the 2011 NFL Draft, abruptly announced his retirement midway through the season in 2013.
