Sen'Derrick Marks aims to be ready for Jags season-opener
The Jacksonville Jaguars regular-season opener on Sept. 13 will mark the debut of a number of high-profile new faces, including tight end Julius Thomas, defensive tackle Jared Odrick and offensive tackle Jermey Parnell.
If everything goes according to plan, it will also include the return of a familiar - and valuable - old face, working his way back from injury.
Defensive tackle Sen'Derrick Marks, who tore his ACL during the 2014 finale against the Texans, told the team's official website he hopes to be ready by the opener.
“I want to be back before the season,” Marks told Jaguars.com. “That (the regular-season opener) would be my target, but other than that, I’m not pushing it.
“It’s been progressing pretty well. It’s getting better and better every day. I’m going along with the flow, and however it comes about I’m just doing all the work I can. As far as the protocol and what’s on paper, I’m right on schedule of where I’m supposed to be. All that’s great.”
His return would be a boon to Gus Bradley's defense. The seven-year veteran led the team in sacks last season with 8.5.
