Sean Payton: Bounty suspension 'seems like 10 years ago'

Sean Payton took some time to chat with Jay Mohr of FOX Sports on Monday, answering a wide range of questions. One topic that came up was the appeal that he gave against the one that Tom Brady is giving, according to Evan Woodbery of NOLA.com.

While Payton said that the two appeals have some similarities, he also said that his suspension feels like it was "10 years ago."

"I certainly can't speak for Tom," Payton said. "The comparisons are difficult, because one deals with the players union, and in our case, there's pretty much no representation outside what the league finds."

"It was a process that took place, it seems like 10 years ago. Obviously, it's challenging and frustrating to be away from the game for that long. But with regards to Tom and New England and Bill (Belichick), they'll handle this. I've really got no insight as to specifics when it comes to a player, because it's a lot different than a coach."

The two situations are obviously tough to compare and it's still unknown what will happen with Brady's appeal. For Payton though, it seems that he's fully moved on from everything relating to the "bountygate" situation.
