Saturday Night Live parodies Marshawn Lynch, Richard Sherman on eve of Super Bowl

Updated Mar. 4, 2020 11:17 p.m. ET

At least something good has come out of a week full of awkward Marshawn Lynch press conferences.

On the eve of Super Bowl XLIX, "Saturday Night Live" opened its show with a parody of Seattle Seahawks Richard Sherman and Lynch, with a guest appearance by Pete Carroll.

Jay Pharoah did a great job channeling Sherman, ranting against New York mayor Bill de Blasio and trying to get the reticent Lynch to open up.

Lynch, played by Kenan Thompson, gave his usual stock answers, along with a few funny shout outs ("Shout-out to dreadlocked footballs!") and even gave up a chuckle to Carroll (Taran Killam) when he tried to tell a knock knock joke to his uncooperative star running back.
