Saints RT Strief and C Kreutz hurt vs. Texans

Published Sep. 25, 2011 4:02 p.m. ET

Saints starting right tackle Zach Strief and starting center Olin Kreutz both have left Sunday's game against the Houston Texans because of apparent leg injuries.

Strief went down on New Orleans' first drive of the second half and needed help getting to the sideline after trainers looked at his right knee. He was later carted to the locker room while the drive was winding up with Robert Meachem's touchdown catch.

Kreutz appeared to hurt his left leg in the first half, but team officials have not updated the conditions of either player.

Brian de la Puente has taken over at center for the Saints, while second-year pro and 2010 second-round draft choice Charles Brown has stepped in at right tackle.
