Saints starting cornerback Jabari Greer hurt his left leg in the first quarter Sunday against the San Francisco 49ers and team officials quickly ruled him out for the rest of the game.
San Francisco also had a cornerback go down late in the second quarter when Tarell Brown had to be carted off with a rib contusion after tackling Saints running back Pierre Thomas near the goal line. He was listed as questionable to return.
Greer landed awkwardly after leaping to break up a third-down pass intended for Jon Baldwin. As Greer came down, he twisted his ankle and his knee appeared to buckle.
The veteran was taken to the locker room on a cart, waving as the crowd applauded.
