Saints get blanked for Pro Bowl, but who may have deserved a nod?
While the New Orleans Saints currently aren't sending a single player to the upcoming Pro Bowl, it doesn't mean that a few players weren't deserving of the honor. The problem? Well, there were simply players ahead of the bulk of these guys who just have put together stellar seasons that (for the most part) were more deserving.
Let's take a look at a few players who could have earned the nod potentially.
Cameron Jordan, defensive end
While Jordan has nine sacks on the year, he's still ranked No. 8 among defensive ends, so it's understandable why he didn't get the nod. Even Jordan himself took to Twitter to talk about not making the Pro Bowl, mentioning three sacks he had taken away.
Guess those 3 sacks taken by penalties bit me in the end... 2 games left #gottawinout

To go along with his nine sacks this season, he also had 40 combined tackles, five passes defensed and one forced fumble.
Delvin Breaux, cornerback
There's two reasons why Breaux wasn't in the mix for one of the Pro Bowl spots, the first is that he's not a household name just yet. Don't worry though, because he will be soon enough. Breaux has gone into lockdown cornerback mode this season, and was consistently guarding opponents' top wide receivers.
The second reason, is that his numbers don't jump off the page. Even though he had a strong year, it wasn't the type of incredible season that other players managed to put together statistically. Now, the truth is, Breaux can't only be judged by his stats, for the exact reasons mentioned above.
Breaux finished up the year with 41 combined tackles, 15 passes defensed and two interceptions.
Terron Armstead, left tackle
Armstead has done a great job at protecting Drew Brees this season. Brees has been brought down 30 times (No. 12 most in the NFL). Obviously we can't give all the credit to Armstead, but the third-year lineman deserves some serious praise.
If the Saints were sitting in playoff contention or at least in the mix, there's a chance Armstead would have received some Pro Bowl love. At the very least, we should expect to hear his name quite a bit when Pro Bowl voting rolls around in the coming seasons.
