Rex Ryan says Stephon Gilmore (shoulder) could be out for year
Stephon Gilmore suffered a dislocated shoulder for the Buffalo Bills two weeks ago and was forced to miss Sunday's game against the Philadelphia Eagles. The severity of the injury or amount of time it would force him to miss was unclear, but Rex Ryan didn't sound confident on Tuesday.
Ryan was asked if Gilmore would return this season, to which he responded by saying this, via Joe Buscaglia of WKBW.
With the Bills all but eliminated from playoff contention, it's not surprising to hear Gilmore could be shut down for the remainder of the year. He's played extremely well this season and the Bills would love to have him healthy, but risking re-injury may not be worth it at this point.
Ronald Darby will move over as the No. 1 cornerback with Leodis McKelvin filling in at the other corner spot. The defense won't be the same without Gilmore in the secondary.
Additionally, Ryan is hopeful that linebacker Nigel Bradham will be back this week against the Washington Redskins after missing the past two games with an ankle injury.
#Bills HC Rex Ryan: I'm not ruling out the possibility of Gilmore being done for the season with the dislocated shoulder
