Rex Ryan has never seen a team that needed bye more than Bills

It's no question that the Buffalo Bills have been beat up more than just about any other team in the NFL this season. Injuries have plagued both the offense and the defense, and a late bye week didn't help the cause.

Fortunately, the Bills have finally reached their week off and there's no doubt they're more than ready for some recovery time.

"I don’t know if I’ve ever been on a team that needed a bye worse than we do," head coach Rex Ryan said via the team's official site. "You know what, when we get this team back to full strength, with having Sammy Watkins, Percy Harvin, Tyrod Taylor, the right side of our line, that would be a heck of a start. Then on defense hopefully we’ll get the Williams’ back, both of them [Aaron and Kyle] and that’ll help us."

As Ryan said, the Bills have had to overcome injuries to Taylor, Harvin, Watkins, Karlos Williams, Aaron Williams, Kyle Williams, and Leodis McKelvin. All are impact players on a team struggling to stay afloat, and all could have helped the team greatly if they were healthy.

"That’s not just average football players, those are pretty darn good ones [who have been out],"Ryan said. "And we’ve got to get them back and we’ve got to get healthy and have a heck of a go at it for nine games."

McCoy has finally gotten back on the field in the past two weeks, but Watkins and Taylor have both missed those two games. It's been a while since the Bills had all three players on the field at the same time, but they're hoping a bye week will make that happen.

"I know injuries are part of the game, but there are so many on this team," McCoy said. "We’ve got to get some guys back and play a game with full weapons. You come into this league and you pick the players you want. You go into the game with a game plan, but you don’t have your guys. We’d like to have everybody back and get a full, realistic look."
