Revis still upset over Patriots not allowing his mom to attend ring ceremony
Back in June, the New England Patriots didn't allow Darrelle Revis' mother to attend the Super Bowl ring ceremony at owner Robert Kraft's house. Revis was unable to attend the ceremony because he was being "father of the year" by taking his kids to Disney World, as he promised them. Because of that, Revis' mother was planning on attending the event with the intention of receiving her son's Super Bowl ring. That didn't happen.
One month later and Revis is still unhappy about how the whole situation played out. "If that’s how they want to do things, that’s fine," Revis said to ESPN.com. "I’m not going to waste my time on it."
Well, OK then. Needless to say, things probably aren't sitting well between Revis and his former team. Of course, the whole ceremony "incident" happened after Revis left the Patriots for the division-rival New York Jets, so that could have something to do with it.
Still, it seems somewhat silly to refuse a player's mother from attending the ceremony for her son, even if the player did happen to leave the team for a division rival.
