An eventful offseason for the San Francisco 49ers continued on Saturday as the team trade three-time Pro Bowl punter Andy Lee to the Cleveland Browns, according to the multiple reports.
The Browns sent a seventh-round draft pick in 2017 to the Niners in exchange for Lee and then released incumbent punter Spencer Lanning.
Lee was selected by the 49ers in the sixth round of the 2004 NFL Draft and has been a steady performer over the years. He set an NFL record in 2011 -- later broken -- with a 44.0-yard net punting average. He has also snared four All-Pro selections and in 2012, received a contract extension through the 2018 season.

The trade comes one day after 49ers offensive lineman decided to retire at age 25, citing health reasons.
