Report: Ward's 'Dancing' partner hurt
"Dancing with the Stars" pro dancer Kym Johnson was injured during rehearsals Friday and was rushed to a Los Angeles hospital, "Extra" reported.
Johnson, 34, suffered a fall as she practiced with her partner, Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Hines Ward, in advance of their performance on the ABC show next Monday.
The Australian dancer was taken out of the practice room on a stretcher with an oxygen mask on her face, the Los Angeles Fire Department told "Extra."
However, despite injury fears, the network announced Friday night that the show would go on for Johnson and Ward, 35.
"Kym Johnson was admitted to the hospital today immediately after falling and injuring her neck during practice," the statement said.
"After several tests, she was cleared by the medical staff, though she is bruised, sore and currently wearing a neck brace. Kym plans to continue with Hines Ward in the competition and resume rehearsals as soon as possible."
The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reported that Ward immediately posted the update on his Facebook page, adding, "Steeler Nation — please show her some love. She is awesome! Hines."
Johnson's representative also issued a statement that said she had been taken to hospital as a precautionary measure, and the dance star herself said on her Twitter page that she was "a little shaken up, sore but I will be fine."
Ward and Johnson are considered favorites to win the show, Pittsburgh television station WTAE-TV reported.
