Report: Vic Beasley ready to prove that he can be an every-down player
There's much expected of Vic Beasley heading into his rookie season, but some have said that they don't believe that he can be an every-down player. Well, according to Kevin Patra of NFL.com, Beasley is ready to silence the doubters and prove that he can play each and every down right out of the gate.
"I think I'm an every-down player. I think that's just motivation for me to go out there and prove that I can be an every-down player," Beasley told NFL.com of the perception.
As Patra explains, the former Clemson Tiger was also aware of the need for a pass rush and knows that it will likely be his primary job in 2015.
"(My role) is definitely to get after the quarterback," he said. "I think Coach (Dan) Quinn brought me in to get after the quarterback and I think that's my permanent goal this year."
If Beasley does prove to be an every-down player, then this Atlanta defense could be in for big things this season.
