Report: Tom Brady arrives for Pats training camp two days early
Tom Brady is taking his mind off of the Deflategate situation just as you'd expect: by playing football. According to Mike Reiss of ESPN, Brady has already arrived in Foxboro for training camp, two days before it's slated to start.
As Reiss notes, veterans don't arrive until Wednesday, but quarterbacks and players returning from injury can be required to report early. Nonetheless, Brady is back and ready to take the field in Gillette Stadium.
Now nearly six months removed from the end of the 2014 season, which the Patriots capped off with a Super Bowl victory, Brady is still awaiting a ruling from NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell's office on whether or not his four-game suspension for his role in Deflategate will be reduced. When that decision will come, no one knows. But, we seem to be getting close.
The NFLPA has now entered discussions with the NFL about a settlement, although a solution has yet to be reached. The start of training camp on Wednesday could act as a deadline for Goodell, so we could get a ruling by then.
