Report: Texans QB Brian Hoyer to miss Sunday's game against Jets

Published Nov. 19, 2015 1:44 p.m. ET

T.J. Yates led the Texans to a win last week. Sunday, he'll be asked to do it again.

The Texans will be without starting quarterback Brian Hoyer for this week's game against the New York Jets, according to a report.

Per Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle, the Hoyer will miss Sunday's game after suffering a concussion in Monday night's 10-6 win over the Cincinnati Bengals.

Hoyer left the game in the third quarter after being sacked by Bengals defensive tackle Domata Peko.

Yates took over with the Texans trailing 6-3 and was able to lead the team on the game-winning scoring drive capped off by a 22-yard touchdown to wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins.

Newly-acquired Brandon Weeden, who the team claimed on waivers, will serve as Yates' backup this week.

According to Wilson, the Texans hope to have Hoyer back for next week's game against New Orleans.
