Report: Steelers WR Martavis Bryant returns to team's headquarters

Published Sep. 30, 2015 3:25 p.m. ET

Steelers receiver Martavis Bryant is reportedly back with the team after a three-week stay in Houston at former NBA coach John Lucas' counseling facility.

Bryant has served three-quarters of his four-game suspension for multiple failed marijuana tests. He returned the to team's facilities this week and is allowed to attend meetings, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Steelers coach Mike Tomlin would not confirm Bryant's return, saying he would address Bryant's situation when his suspension is up, which will be Friday.

Tomlin said that Bryant has issues bigger than football when the league first announced the suspension. Bryant spent long days working with Lucas to get those issues in order, according to Rapoport.

Bryant exploded onto the scene his rookie season with eight touchdown catches after missing the first six games. If he returns in his first game of eligibility on Monday night, Oct. 12, Michael Vick will likely be his quarterback as starter Ben Roethlisberger is out indefinitely after suffering a knee injury this past Sunday.
