Report: RB Moreno to miss all of 2015 season: 'Knee isn't right'

What originally looked a detour now looks more and more like a possible derailment in the career of Knowshon Moreno.

Currently a free agent, the 27-year-old running back who has played all of one full game last season for the Dolphins -- Week 1 -- because of knee injuries, will now reportedly miss all of the 2015 season because of more knee troubles.

The South Florida Sun-Sentinel's Omar Kelly tweeted that Moreno will miss the upcoming season because "his knee isn't right."

Adding to the belief that certainly Miami won't be needing Moreno regardless, Kelly later tweeted an update on the man the club hopes will take over the primary ball-carrying duties in 2015.

It is a sad, frustrating development for Moreno, who showed enough potential as part of a committee in Denver with Peyton Manning running the show that he landed a one-year, $3 million contract to get a shot to be the Dolphins' starter. That came after a 2013 season in which Moreno set career-highs with 1,038 yards rushing, 60 receptions, 548 yards receiving and 13 total touchdowns.

And his tenure in Miami got off to a promising start with 134 yards and a score on 24 carries in a season-opening win against New England last season. But he injured his elbow in the first quarter in Week 2 and finished the game with just one carry, then missed the next two games, then suffered a season-ending torn ACL in Week 6 against Green Bay.

Drafted 12th overall by the Broncos in the 2009 draft, Moreno has rushed for 3.616 yards, has another 1,409 yards on 158 catches, and has scored 36 total touchdowns in 63 games in his career.
