Report: RB C.J. Spiller won't play in opener against Arizona Cardinals

When running back C.J. Spiller underwent minor knee surgery on August 14, there was still an optimistic outlook that he would be ready for Week 1 against the Arizona Cardinals.

Unfortunately, Ian Rapoport of NFL.com took to Twitter to shut down the rumor before it got too hot.

Spiller signed a four-year deal worth $16 million this offseason with the Saints. With the electric back set to sit out, it means that RBs Mark Ingram and Khiry Robinson will carry the load for New Orleans' first game.
