Report: Rams, cornerback Jenkins in contract negotiations
The St. Louis Rams locked up their top defensive player, Robert Quinn, a year ago.
Now, they are reportedly in negotiations to extend their No. 1 cornerback, Janoris Jenkins, per NFL Network's Rand Getlin. Jenkins is set to become an unrestricted free agent after the 2015 season.
Jenkins and his representatives would like to get a deal done with the #Rams by the time the season starts. Optimism that could happen.

If Jenkins and the #Rams can't come to terms on an extension by then, he'd likely play out the season and re-visit his contract in January.

Jenkins appeared in 14 games in 2014, recording 55 total tackles, two forced fumbles and two interceptions, including a 99-yard pick six. He's shown flashes of potential, but has also been exposed at times.
Where the Rams and Jenkins stand in contract talks is unknown, but one would think locking up a key piece of their secondary would be high atop the team's list of priorities.
