Report: Green Bay Packers WR Ty Montgomery stands out at minicamp

Green Bay Packers rookie wide receiver Ty Montgomery has made a strong return to practice, ESPN's Rob Demovsky reports from the team's minicamp. The 2015 third-round pick was finishing classes at Stanford during OTA workouts.

Demovsky cited a deep catch Montgomery made in the seam, as well as his ability to run after the catch in general. Packers quarterbacks/receivers coach Alex Van Pelt told ESPN that he's impressed with Montgomery's progress, despite the missed time.

"It is difficult," Montgomery said, per ESPN. "I was actually talking to one of the other receivers today about that, a little bit of that pressure, 'Oh, you know, he's a Stanford guy. He knows the plays.' But thankfully we have the type of guys that we have here that have no issues helping me out if I have any questions."

Montgomery, who has already drawn comparisons to Randall Cobb, will compete for targets amid a crowded wide receiver competition this summer.
