A report from Bill Novak of Madison.com indicates that former Denver Bronco running back Montee Ball was arrested Friday for allegedly pushing his girlfriend into a table.

Police were reportedly called at the Hampton Hotel and Suites in Madison, Wisconsin at about 3:40 a.m.

From Madison.com:

"The woman told police she had a dispute with her boyfriend," a police source told the State Journal. "She said he put his hands on her, picked her up and threw her.".

Ball was apparently taken to jail for a "tentative charge of substantial battery."

Ball, 25, was selected by the Denver Broncos with the 58th overall pick in 2013. In two seasons with the Broncos, Ball rushed for 731 yards and five touchdowns. Prior to this season, Ball was cut by the Broncos. He was signed as a practice squad member on Dec. 15 by the New England Patriots.

According to the report, Ball's girlfriend suffered a cut on her leg that required stitches. Ball cooperated with law enforcement.
