Report: Colts expect to get CB Toler back against Texans

Indianapolis Colts starting cornerback Greg Toler, who has been out since August with a neck injury is expected to make his season debut Thursday against the Houston Texans.

Per the Indianapolis Star, Toler who suffered a bruised disc in his neck, has been cleared to return to full activity in practice and is on track to play against Houston.

Toler was injured Aug. 22 and sat out the Colts' first four games.

"This is the scariest injury I've ever been through," Toler said. "I've been through quite a few, unfortunately, but this one, it wasn't a soft-tissue injury. You can get all the massages and all chiropractors, (the remedy) was just time."

With Toler's return to the lineup, the Colts will be able to return Darius Butler to his normal role as slot corner.

A seven-year veteran, Toler said he's anxious to get back on the field.

"It's been six weeks," Toler said. "Patience. Trying to help the guys as much as possible while I wasn't on the field. In the meeting room I was being a little more vocal, just telling them what I see. But now, I'm able to be out there with them, so I'm happy."

In 15 starts last season, Toler made 57 tackles with two interceptions, including one returned 47-yards for a touchdown against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
