Ravens' headset squabbles don't cut the mustard with Cardinals' Arians
Arizona Cardinals coach Bruce Arians offered little sympathy upon learning that the headsets went out for the Baltimore Ravens coaching staff in the final two minutes of Monday night's matchup between the teams.
While the Ravens were left to grouse about the malfunctioning equipment following their 26-18 loss, Arians took a been-there, done-that approach during an appearance Tuesday on the Bickley & Marotta sports-talk radio show.
"In Tennessee, we had a tugboat captain come on this frequency," Arians told the hosts, "but the best one was we had a fourth-and-1 in Baltimore and we're going for it.
"I'm trying to make the call and a hot dog vendor came on," Arians recalled. "He said, 'We could use some hot dogs up here in Section 25.' "
No sooner than Arians blurted out, "What the hell's going on?" than he received a big assist from the opposing sideline.
"Thank God we're running players on because we don't have any communication and Baltimore called time out," Arians said.
