St. Louis Rams outside linebacker Jo-Lonn Dunbar has been suspended without pay for the first four games of the season for violating the NFL's substance-abuse policy.

Dunbar was among the most productive players on defense last season with 115 tackles, 41/2 sacks, two interceptions and two forced fumbles.

He's eligible to participate in preseason practices and games, but will miss regular season games against Arizona, Atlanta, Dallas and San Francisco.
