Raiders sign former National Championship hero Dyer

Published May. 11, 2015 11:46 p.m. ET

The running back who rolled over Cam Newton and brought Auburn its first National Championship since 1957 is now an Oakland Raider.

Dyer went undrafted following a troubling college career that ended at Louisville and included stops at four colleges, including Auburn, where he was the 2011 BCS National Championship Game's MVP.

The former five-star prospect landed at Arkansas State after a suspension and off-field issues where he played under Gus Malzahn. He ended his college career as a rotational back at Louisville under Bobby Petrino.

At the NFL Combine, Dyer wondered what would've been if he stayed an Auburn Tiger. Now, he gets to look forward to a potential pro career as an Oakland Raider.
