Raiders Just Miss Top 5 of NFL Power Rankings
Week 9 edition of where the Oakland Raiders land on ESPN’s NFL Power Rankings.
After yet another thrilling victory — this time in overtime against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers — the Oakland Raiders have been given a big bump in ESPN’s weekly NFL Power Rankings, but not quite into the Top 5.
Moving to 6-2 on the season, Oakland jumped up from 11th to 6th. Per ESPN:
The Raiders are off to their best eight-game start since 2001, despite allowing the second-most yards per game and committing the most penalties. QB Derek Carr has kept the Raiders afloat, throwing 16 of his 17 touchdowns with the score within eight points (most in the NFL).

How the Packers are ranked 5th, I’m not sure. But if Oakland can grab the win on Sunday against Denver, they’ll have a strong case for 3rd on next week’s edition.
