ALAMEDA, Calif. (AP) The Oakland Raiders have finalized their coaching staff by hiring former NFL kicker Chris Boniol as an assistant special teams coach and Vernon Stephens as assistant strength and conditioning coach.
General manager Reggie McKenzie also formally announced Thursday that Joe Woods will be defensive backs coach and Marcus Robertson will be an assistant in the secondary.
Boniol spent the last four seasons on the staff of the Dallas Cowboys. He played six seasons in the NFL for Dallas, Philadelphia and Chicago. His best year was in 1995 when he made 27 of 28 field goals for the Cowboys.
The team confirmed earlier in the week that Woods and Robertson would replace Johnnie Lynn and Clayton Lopez on coach Dennis Allen's staff.
