Quad injury sidelines Dolphins kicker Caleb Sturgis at OTAs
Miami Dolphins kicker Caleb Sturgis didn’t participate in Monday’s OTA workouts because of a quadriceps injury to his plant leg, a source told FOX Sports.
Coach Joe Philbin announced Monday afternooon that Sturgis will miss the rest of the team's offseason practices.
A 2013 fifth-round pick, Sturgis hasn’t missed a regular-season game for the Dolphins but has suffered nagging leg and groin injuries in his first two NFL seasons. Sturgis connected on 78.4 percent of his field-goal attempts (29 of 37) in 2014.
Andrew Franks, an undrafted rookie from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, is the other kicker on Miami’s roster.
