QB Cam Newton on flip TD: 'I just know that my heart was in my socks'
Quarterback Cam Newton scored what was one of the most impressive touchdowns of the 2015 season for the Carolina Panthers this past weekend. His flipping goal-line rush was all over the highlight reels.
While it may have looked incredible, it apparently left Cam Newton in a bit of a shock, according to David Newton of ESPN.
"I just know that my heart was in my socks," Newton told ESPN with a smile. "When I was flipping, I was like, 'Hey, I don’t know how this is going to end.' And then I'm coming down I was, 'I can stick this.' I didn't stick it. I've still got to get a high rating by the judge."
Apparently, tight end Greg Olsen knows his quarterback pretty well also, as you can tell from his comments after the play.
"I guarantee the first thing he thought when he fell was he wished he'd stuck that landing, but that was pretty impressive." Olsen said.
Give a tip of the hat to what was probably one of the most impressive two-yard rushing touchdowns in recent memory.
